WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former President Donald Trump has announced that a historic UFC event will take place on the White House grounds on June 14, 2026 — a date that also marks his 80th birthday.
Speaking at a rally in Norfolk, Virginia on Sunday, Trump revealed plans for the unprecedented live MMA event, which is being organized as part of the lead-up to the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations.
“On June 14, next year, we’re going to have a big UFC fight at the White House, right at the White House grounds,” Trump told the crowd.
While the UFC has yet to officially confirm the date, CEO Dana White has previously disclosed several ambitious details about the planned event. According to White, the fights are expected to be held on the South Lawn, with the ceremonial weigh-ins taking place at the Lincoln Memorial. Fighters will reportedly make their walk to the Octagon directly from the Oval Office.
Replacing the grass on the White House lawn after the event is estimated to cost around $700,000, White noted in an earlier interview.
Matchups for the card have not yet been confirmed, and UFC officials have stated that bouts will not begin being booked until early 2026. However, some of the sport’s biggest names have already expressed interest.
Former two-division champion Conor McGregor has said he hopes to face American contender Michael Chandler on the historic card. Meanwhile, retired legend Jon Jones has hinted at a potential comeback specifically for the White House event.
More details are expected to emerge in the coming months as the UFC prepares for what could be one of the most unique and high-profile events in combat sports history.
