Kelvin Amayo Rejoins Rivers Hoopers for 2025 BAL

Reigning Nigerian champions Rivers Hoopers have secured the return of Kelvin Amayo for the fifth season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Amayo, who played a crucial role in the team’s third-place finish in last year’s BAL, will once again don the KingsMen jersey. The Canadian-born Nigerian delivered an impressive performance in the 2024 campaign, averaging 16 points, 6.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. His standout efforts earned him a spot on both the All-BAL Second Team and the BAL All-Defensive Second Team.

In November, Amayo was instrumental in Rivers Hoopers’ Nigeria Premier Basketball League triumph, securing their qualification for the BAL while also clinching the league MVP title.

The two-time BAL bronze medalist becomes the team’s first signing ahead of the 2025 season as Rivers Hoopers gear up for another strong campaign. The KingsMen will open their BAL season against Stade Malien on Saturday, April 5, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco.
