Washington, D.C. – Vice President JD Vance issued a stark warning Thursday, stating that the United States is prepared to impose further sanctions and even consider military measures if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not move to end the nearly three-year-long war in Ukraine.
“There are economic tools of leverage, there are of course military tools of leverage,” Vance told The Wall Street Journal, emphasizing the range of options available to pressure Moscow.
His remarks come as the conflict in Ukraine approaches its third year, with Western nations continuing to seek diplomatic and economic avenues to curb Russian aggression. The Biden administration has maintained its commitment to supporting Ukraine while weighing additional measures to deter further escalation.
Vance’s statement signals a firm stance from Washington, raising questions about potential new strategies to counter Russia’s actions as the war drags on.
