
President Bola Tinubu has expanded his cabinet with the appointment of seven new ministers. The announcement was made on Wednesday following a federal executive council (FEC) meeting, as stated by the presidency.
Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu has been named the new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. Nentawe Yilwatda takes over as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, succeeding the suspended Betta Edu.
Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, formerly serving as the Minister of Police Affairs under the previous administration, has now been assigned as the Minister of Labour and Employment. Additionally, Idi Mukhtar Maiha has been appointed as the Minister of Livestock Development, a key role in addressing issues related to Nigeria’s agriculture and livestock sector.
Yusuf Abdullahi Ata has been assigned as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, while Suwaiba Said Ahmad has been appointed Minister of State, Education.
In a related development, Shehu Dikko has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), which has now absorbed the responsibilities of the recently dissolved Ministry of Sports Development.
Furthermore, Sunday Dare, who previously served as the Minister of Sports under former President Muhammadu Buhari, has been named Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation. He will carry out his duties under the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen his administration and improve governance across critical sectors.
