
Interim Super Eagles manager Augustine Eguavoen has announced his coaching team for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic and the Amavubi of Rwanda PeakNews Online reports.
Eguavoen has chosen Enugu Rangers’ head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars as his assistants.
Ilechukwu led Enugu Rangers, also known as the Flying Antelopes, to victory in Nigeria’s top football division last season, while Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars finished in second place. They will be joined by Slovenian fitness trainer Tomaz Zorec, goalkeeper coach Olatunji Baruwa, and match analyst Eboboritse Uwejamomere in Uyo.
The Super Eagles squad and officials are expected to arrive in Uyo on Monday to begin preparations for their first qualifying match against Benin Republic, scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Following the match, the team will travel to Kigali on Sunday for their second qualifier against Rwanda, set to take place on Tuesday at the Amahoro Stadium. The match will kick off at 3 p.m. local time (2 p.m. Nigeria time).
