Cristiano Ronaldo has reached another historic milestone, netting his 900th career goal during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.
The iconic forward continues to shatter records as he eyes a new target: 1000 career goals.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, achieved this latest feat with a first-half volley, meeting a left-sided cross just outside the six-yard box. Following the strike, Ronaldo was visibly emotional, sinking to his knees in celebration after realizing the magnitude of his accomplishment.
This goal marked his 131st for Portugal, while his remaining 769 have been scored during his club career, spanning five major teams. Ronaldo’s professional journey began at Sporting Lisbon in 2002, where he first caught the world’s attention. A week after his debut, he netted a brace against Moreirense, beginning his remarkable run.
Manchester United quickly took notice, and under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, Ronaldo scored 144 goals in his two stints with the Premier League giants. However, it was during his time at Real Madrid where he made his most significant mark, scoring 450 goals over nine years. He added another 101 goals at Juventus before his recent move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he has already scored 68 goals.
Ronaldo has declared his intent to reach 1000 goals, and with his current form, that target appears well within reach.
