Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has stepped down from his role, citing the need to address medical issues affecting his nuclear family.
In a statement issued by the Presidency, Ngelale announced that he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, informing him of his decision to proceed on indefinite leave.
Alongside stepping down from his media advisory position, Ngelale also relinquished his roles as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen. He explained that the decision was made after consultations with his family and that he looks forward to returning to public service when circumstances allow.
Ngelale, who was born on November 13, 1986, in Wisconsin, USA, has had a prominent career as a Nigerian broadcast journalist. He has worked for Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Channels Television, and he previously served as Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs to President Muhammadu Buhari. His most recent roles under Tinubu include key responsibilities in climate action and green economic solutions, demonstrating his versatile contributions to national governance.
