With less than 48 hours to the end of the transfer window, Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
This is according to journalist Rudy Galetti. The Blues are now set to enter negotiations with Napoli to secure the forward’s transfer.
Earlier in the summer, Osimhen was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but that option is no longer on the table as the interested teams have withdrawn from the race.
The 24-year-old striker, who joined Napoli from Ligue 1’s LOSC Lille, has been in exceptional form, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Italian club, including 65 goals in Serie A. His contributions were crucial in Napoli’s successful 2022-23 campaign, where they clinched the Serie A title.
Meanwhile, French outlet Le Parisien reported on Monday that Paris Saint-Germain have no plans to make a late move for Osimhen before the transfer window closes. This development could favor Chelsea as they pursue the Nigerian international.
Last week, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that Osimhen’s future would be decided in the coming days as the summer transfer window draws to a close. It remains to be seen whether he will end up at Chelsea, PSG, or another club.
