Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, is on the brink of finalizing his transfer to the 2022-23 Serie A champions, Napoli, after Chelsea agreed to let him go for €30 million (£25 million) but his arrival in Naples was chaotic.
Lukaku arrived in Italy on Wednesday to undergo a medical exam, marking the final step before officially joining Gli Azzurri. Upon his arrival at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome, he was greeted by a large crowd of Napoli fans. The situation turned chaotic when a supporter fell to the ground, but Lukaku quickly helped him back on his feet. The deal, which includes additional bonuses, could ultimately rise to €45 million.
As Lukaku prepares to join Napoli, Chelsea is reportedly in talks to bring Napoli’s star forward, Victor Osimhen, to Stamford Bridge. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea has submitted an official offer to Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, and formal negotiations with Napoli are expected to begin soon.
The 31-year-old Lukaku, who began his professional career at Anderlecht in Belgium, is set to join his eighth club in a 15-year career. This move to Napoli will reunite him with former Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte, signaling the end of a turbulent three-year spell at Chelsea.
