Over 20 Medical Students Kidnapped in Benue State

A group of more than 20 medical and dental students from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos, along with a House Officer, on Thursday evening  kidnapped  in Benue State.

The students were en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu when they were ambushed by gunmen at around 5:30 p.m. in the Otukpo area.

The Benue State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday morning, raising widespread concern for the safety of the abducted students. Among those kidnapped is a House Officer identified as Dr. Louis.The incident has sparked a call for urgent intervention by security agencies. An X account dedicated to reporting issues in the medical field, @Nigerian_Doctor, shared the news and appealed for immediate action to rescue the students and alleviate the distress faced by their families.
