NECO Registrar Elected into Executive Council of African Educational Assessment Body

Minna, Nigeria — The Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has been elected to the Executive Council of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA).

Prof. Wushishi was chosen as the West Africa Representative during the 40th AEAA Conference, held at the Century City Conference Centre and Hotels in Cape Town, South Africa.

In a statement released on Sunday by Mallam Azeez Sani, Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO, it was confirmed that Prof. Wushishi will serve on the eight-member Executive Council alongside representatives from various examination bodies across Africa.

Founded in 1982, AEAA aims to foster cooperation among examining and assessment bodies on the continent and is responsible for the harmonization of educational assessments across Africa.

This year’s conference, themed “Reimagining Education Assessment in the Age of Multiple Dimensions of Learning in a Global Society,” took place from August 19 to 23 and attracted over 21 primary members, along with public and private institutions from across the globe.
