Wolverhampton Wanderers fans got more than they bargained for after booing to no end Noni Madueke who responded with a hat-trick in 14 minutes as Chelsea claimed their first Premier League victory of the season with a commanding 6-2 win.
The first half was a chaotic affair, featuring four goals as the hosts twice clawed back from behind. However, it was Noni Madueke who stole the show in the second half with a hat-trick, while substitute Joao Felix added a late goal to seal the win.
Nicolas Jackson wasted no time, heading Chelsea into the lead just two minutes into the game. Wolves quickly responded, with Matheus Cunha finding an equalizer after sustained pressure. Cole Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead with a sublime lobbed finish, but Wolves’ new signing, Jorgen Strand Larsen, struck back in first-half injury time to level the score once again.
The second half, however, belonged to Madueke. Just after the interval, his deflected shot found the back of the net, giving Chelsea the lead for the third time.
He then followed up with a crisp finish from inside the box and an angled strike into the corner to complete his hat-trick. Joao Felix added a final touch, side-footing in a goal to alleviate any remaining pressure on new manager Enzo Maresca.
