
The 4th edition of the D.A.F Youth Basketball Festival tagged “Future Of Naija Basketball” billed to hold from August 20-30, 2024 in Port Harcourt has been postponed indefinitely.
According to a statement by the the organiser, Coach Fubara Humphrey Onyenabor, the postponement is due to his involvement with the Nigeria U18 Men’s national team.
“The planned 4th edition of the D.A.F Youth Basketball Festival billed to hold from August 20 to 30, 2024 has been postponed due to my current involvement with the national U18 Men’s national team. This postponement is regretted and we apologies for the inconveniences this action may have caused the kids and their parents who have looked forward to it.” However, he has reassured that a new date will be announced soon.
Recall that Coach Fubara Onyenabor as Head Coach led the Nigeria U18 Men’s national team to qualify for the Final Round of the FIBA Africa U18 AfroBasket holding in South Africa from September 1-14, 2024.
The Nigeria U18 Men’s team defeated host Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Benin Republic on a 4-0 record.
The team which just returned from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire will take a break for one week and return to camp for the continental championship that also serves as qualification for the FIBA U19 World Cup billed for 2025.
