Demonstrators have vowed to persist in their protests until President Bola Tinubu addresses their demands, according to leaders from the Take It Back Movement.
In a statement to journalists in Abuja, Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation for the movement, expressed frustration over the prolonged oppression under President Tinubu’s administration.
“The various court orders restricting protesters to particular locations are an aberration,” Adenola stated. “Our presence here today is an announcement that we have been oppressed for too long. Today, we have risen. We are saying to the president that unless President Bola Tinubu accedes to our demands, we will remain on the streets. We want to see the president on the street. During the protest, he was on the street.”
Ayoola Babalola, another leader of the Take It Back Movement, criticized the heavy police presence around the premises of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, calling it an embarrassment to the nation.
Protesters have made it clear that their demonstrations will not cease until their demands are met by the president.
