
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Egyptian referee for Nigeria’s encounter again Benin Republic.
Amin Mohamed Omar will serve as the centre referee in next week’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Cheetahs of Benin Republic. Omar, who has been a FIFA referee since 2017, will lead the officiating team for the Matchday 1 encounter at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The match is set to kick off at 5:00 p.m. local time, with Omar accompanied by fellow Egyptians Mahmoud Abouelregal (Assistant Referee 1), Ahmad Hossam Taha (Assistant Referee 2), and Ahmed ElGhandour (Fourth Official).
The game will mark the debut of Nigeria’s new manager, Bruno Labbadia, as the Super Eagles take on a Benin side coached by former Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr.
Additionally, CAF has appointed Ghanaian official Munkaila Nassam Adam as the match commissioner.
Senegal’s Fatou Gaye will serve as the referee assessor, and Ivorian Atte Claude Elloh has been named the security officer for the fixture.
