
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted visa restrictions imposed on Nigerian travelers, effective immediately.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following a Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
Idris informed State House correspondents that the Federal Government and UAE authorities have reached an agreement to remove the travel restrictions, allowing Nigerian passport holders to travel to the UAE without hindrance.
“I can tell you that the agreement has been reached and effective from today, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE are able to do so,” Idris stated.
The minister highlighted the ongoing discussions between Nigeria and the UAE regarding visa issues for Nigerian passport holders. He confirmed that an agreement has now been reached, enabling Nigerians to obtain visas for travel to the UAE starting from July 15, 2024.
