Adamawa and Delta States — The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed victory in all the seats in the local government elections held last Saturday in Adamawa and Delta States.
According to the results released by the state electoral commissions, the PDP secured all 21 chairmanship seats in Adamawa. Similarly, the party won all 24 chairmanship seats in Delta State.
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) confirmed that the PDP also won all the councillorship positions in the state. In a statement, ADSIEC Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Umar announced the elected chairmen and invited them to the commission’s headquarters to collect their certificates of return. Twelve political parties participated in the election.

In Delta State, Dr. Jerry Agbaike, the DSIEC chairman and returning officer, announced that the PDP won all chairmanship seats, except for one ward in Oshimili South local government area, which was won by the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
