MMCC Lauds Dantosho Appointment As NPA MD

Mercury Maritime Concession Company (MMCC), promoters of the Escravos Seaport Industrial Complex in Delta State, has congratulated Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho on his recent appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA).

In a statement by the Chairman of the company, Rear Admiral Andrew Okoja (retd), commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a professional from within the NPA to head such a sensitive government agency.

He said that the new MD has gone through the ranks, knows and understand the system very well, pointing out that he doesn’t need time to study the system because he has been part of the system from the beginning.

Okoja believes that appointing an industry man to spearhead the activities of NPA is one of the best decisions that will benefit the entire maritime sector positively.

Furthermore, Okoja expressed confidence in the ability of Dantsoho to reposition the Authority for improved efficiency, increased revenue generation and prioritise welfare of the staff.

He noted that Dantsoho’s appointment as the new MD of NPA is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and expertise in the industry over the years.

“We at the MMCC are delighted with your appointment as the new helm of NPA and believe that with your experience, you will move the Authority forward addressing the hard cchallenges associated with the ports system across the country.

“He will bring a wealth of experience to bear on Maritime sub- sector of Nigeria’s economic development, having served in various positions within NPA, including Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff and Billing.”

The new MD holds a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University, both in the United Kingdom.
