Gunmen kill four policemen and POS Operator in Owerri

 

On Monday evening, gunmen killed four policemen and a Point of Sale (POS) operator in the Irete community along Onitsha Road, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to reports, the assailants opened fire on the policemen who were conducting a stop-and-search operation near AA Rano and Global fuel stations on Onitsha Road. The attack resulted in the deaths of four officers and the POS operator before the gunmen fled the scene.

The spokesman for the police in Imo State, Henry Okoye, has yet to respond to inquiries concerning the incident.
