
The inaugural Nigeria Top 8 Female Invitational Tournament has produced a winner in the person of Rofiat Abdulazeez.
Abdulazeez on Saturday in addition claimed the wild card slot that was at stake to this year’s Abbas Family Squash Tournament billed for Maryland, USA with a Commanding 3-0 win.
The Lagos State based player defeated Busayo Olatunji in the final game played at the squash court of the prestigious Ibadan Recreation Club.
In the run up to the final, Abdulazeez had seen off Veronica Sunday 3-0, Mistura Durosinlorun 3-1 Delight Allison 3-0 in the preliminary stage before stopping Blessing Isaac 3-1 in the Semi-Finals.
The Nigeria Top 8 Female Invitational Tournament was sponsored by Solar Power Etal whose CEO, Akinlolu Ajayi-Obe has promised to make the tournament an annual one.
A satisfied Abdulazeez expressed joy at winning the tournament with a promise to give her best at the Abbas Family Squash Tournament.
