
ABUJA, Nigeria – Thirty women coaches have successfully completed the first of a three-module CAF C-License program in the Federal Capital, Abuja. They are set to begin a two-week internship with various teams in the coming days.
The cohort, which includes former Nigerian internationals and current coaches, underwent a week of intensive classroom and practical sessions. These sessions were led by a team of coach educators and resource persons, providing a preview of the upcoming modules.
NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, expressed satisfaction with the participants’ performance. “I am very much impressed with their attitude, mannerisms, and conduct throughout the first module. They impressed everyone, and the coach educators also told me they were impressed and are looking forward to having them back for the second and concluding modules,” he told thenff.com. Eguavoen also thanked the NFF leadership for their continuous support and encouragement for coach-education programs.
The participants will return to Abuja for the second module scheduled for August 12-20. This will be followed by another two-week internship from August 23 to September 4. The third module, which includes examinations, will take place from September 9-19.
Dr. Terry Babatunde Eguaoje, NFF’s Head of Education, is part of the coach educators’ team, alongside Coaches Isah Ladan Bosso, Wemimo Olanrewaju, and Lawrence Ndaks.
Among the 30 participants are former Super Falcons stars such as Precious Dede, Joy Jegede, Esther Michael, Maureen Eke, Otas Ogbonmwan, Vera Okolo, Cecilia Nku, Taiwo Ajobiewe, Gloria Ofoegbu, and Amenze Aighewi. The group also includes Barr. Victoria Nlemigbo and retired FIFA referee Folusho Ajayi.
