Two die in Eid-el-Kabir day accident on Sagamu-Ijebu Ode expressway

Abeokuta, Nigeria – A tragic accident on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway in Ososa claimed the lives of two individuals and left three others injured on Sunday, the day of Eid-el-Kabir.

Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the incident in a statement released to the press in Abeokuta.

The accident occurred at 11:28 a.m. and involved an ash-colored Howo truck without a registration number and a blue Toyota Camry car with the registration number APP 478 FS. According to Okpe, the collision was caused by excessive speed, which led to a loss of control and the subsequent crash of the two vehicles.

“The accident involved five people — a man and four women. Unfortunately, two people, a man and a woman, were killed, while three women sustained injuries,” Okpe stated.

The injured individuals were promptly taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode for medical treatment, while the deceased were also transported to the hospital’s morgue.

The FRSC spokesperson urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and drive safely, especially during festive periods when road traffic tends to increase.
